Angel Pax is a non-profit organization that provides back packs filled with items for children taken from their homes due to drugs, abuse and neglect.
“In a perfect world, every child would be nurtured by a loving family, attend a challenging and exciting school and live in a supportive community. But the sad reality is that not every child has these opportunities.”
Many times when kids are taken from their homes due to drugs they are not allowed to bring any personal items with them. They are forced to leave the only place they have ever known, while also leaving behind everything that they call their own.
Then they are placed into a foster care facility until a family is able to take them in. During this whole process they still only have the clothes on their backs and the few amenities that they are provided with while in the home.
What we do is give the child a backpack that they can "call their own". It is filled with gender appropriate items: blanket, stuffed animal, baby doll, hot wheels car, lotion, coloring book, crayons, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.... This pack is for the child to keep.
